Más de 250 asistentes se sumergieron en las corrientes simbólicas y culturales de la Amazonía durante dos encuentros excepcionales los días 17 y 18 de julio de 2025 en el MAAM — Museo de Arte Moderno de Medellín, que contaron con la participación de GO BILINGUAL como agencia oficial de traducciones.

La primera cita, el 17 de julio, fue la conferencia “Bubuia: Aguas como fuente de imaginaciones y deseos”, curada por Keyna Eleison y Vania Leal como parte inaugural de la Bienal das Amazônias. Inspirada en la presencia del agua en el imaginario amazónico — las lluvias, los ríos, el fluir — la exposición propuso recorrer rutas movedizas, donde nociones de lugar, identidad y economía se ven desplazadas por la corriente cultural.

El segundo encuentro, el 18 de julio, consistió en una visita guiada con interpretación simultánea a la exposición principal de la Bienal. Durante esta experiencia, GO BILINGUAL facilitó la comunicación entre los asistentes de habla portuguesa y española, ofreciendo una traducción fluida y culturalmente precisa que permitió una comprensión profunda del diálogo curatorial, las obras expuestas y los conceptos que entretejían la muestra.
Keyna Eleison: curadora, filósofa y cronista ancestral
Keyna Eleison, nacida en Río de Janeiro, es curadora, escritora y narradora con una trayectoria marcada por el pensamiento afrodescendiente, la filosofía y la historia del arte. Fue directora artística del Museo de Arte Moderno de Río de Janeiro y actualmente es co-curadora de la Bienal de São Paulo. Su enfoque curatorial entrelaza saberes griot, espiritualidad y justicia cultural, creando espacios donde el arte se convierte en memoria viva y resistencia poética.
Vania Leal: cuerpo de río y voz del norte amazónico
Desde Belém, Vania Leal ha tejido una práctica curatorial profundamente conectada con los territorios amazónicos. Con una maestría en comunicación y cultura, ha sido curadora de múltiples exposiciones en la región y directora de proyectos especiales de la Bienal das Amazônias. Su trabajo se define por el desplazamiento físico y simbólico a través de ríos, comunidades y saberes ancestrales, posicionando el arte como herramienta de encuentro, cuidado y transformación.

The first event, held on July 17, was the conference “Bubuia: Waters as a Source of Imaginations and Desires”, curated by Keyna Eleison and Vania Leal as the inaugural moment of the Bienal das Amazônias. The second event, on July 18, consisted of a guided visit with simultaneous interpretation to the Bienal’s main exhibition. During this experience, GO BILINGUAL facilitated communication between Portuguese- and Spanish-speaking attendees, offering fluid and culturally nuanced translation that enabled a deeper understanding of the curatorial dialogue, the exhibited works, and the intertwined conceptual threads.
Keyna Eleison: Curator, Philosopher, and Ancestral Storyteller
Born in Rio de Janeiro, Keyna Eleison is a curator, writer, and narrator whose career is shaped by Afro-descendant thought, philosophy, and art history. She served as Artistic Director of the Museum of Modern Art of Rio de Janeiro and is currently co-curator of the Bienal de São Paulo. Her curatorial approach interweaves griot knowledge, spirituality, and cultural justice, creating spaces where art becomes living memory and poetic resistance.
Vania Leal: River Body and Voice of the Northern Amazon
Based in Belém, Vania Leal has cultivated a curatorial practice deeply rooted in Amazonian territories. With a master’s degree in communication and culture, she has curated multiple exhibitions in the region and directed special projects for the Bienal das Amazônias. Her work is defined by physical and symbolic movement through rivers, communities, and ancestral knowledge, positioning art as a tool for encounter, care, and transformation.
