Peggy Burns: la voz editorial detrás de Drawn & Quarterly
Una de las protagonistas internacionales del evento fue Peggy Burns (Canadá), editora y directora de la reconocida editorial Drawn & Quarterly, con sede en Montreal. Fundada en 1990, esta casa editorial ha sido clave en la consolidación de la novela gráfica como forma literaria y artística. Burns compartió su experiencia en la conferencia Edición del cómic contemporáneo, donde expuso el recorrido de la editorial y su compromiso con autores como Lynda Barry, Adrian Tomine y Kate Beaton.
Diamela Eltit: literatura como resistencia
Otra figura destacada fue la escritora chilena Diamela Eltit, reconocida por su obra literaria profundamente crítica y experimental. Eltit ha sido una voz clave en la literatura latinoamericana desde los años ochenta, abordando temas como la marginalidad, el cuerpo, la política y la memoria. La escritora Kim Thúy (Vietnam/Canadá) también fue una de las voces internacionales más conmovedoras de la Fiesta. Reconocida por obras como Ru y Em, su narrativa entrelaza memoria, migración y resiliencia, explorando el exilio como una fuente de belleza y reconstrucción. Nacida en Saigón y refugiada en Quebec desde su infancia, Thúy ha convertido su experiencia personal en literatura profundamente lírica, que ha sido traducida a más de 20 idiomas. En sus participaciones, compartió reflexiones sobre el cuerpo como archivo y la escritura como acto de sanación, generando una conexión íntima con el público colombiano.
