En el marco de la celebración de los 20 años de la Fiesta del Libro y la Cultura de Medellín, cuyo lema este año es “Travesías de la lectura”, la empresa de servicios lingüísticos GO BILINGUAL se sumó a la programación garantizando la accesibilidad idiomática a través de su servicio de interpretación simultánea.
Del 11 al 20 de septiembre de 2026, el Jardín Botánico y la Zona Norte se transformaron en el escenario central para la literatura, el pensamiento crítico y el intercambio cultural entre invitados locales e internacionales.
Gracias al despliegue técnico y profesional de GO BILINGUAL, el público asistente a los espacios de la Zona Explora pudo disfrutar sin barreras del lenguaje de dos de los conversatorios más destacados de la franja Territorios femeninos:
- El cuerpo como territorio en disputa (6:00 p. m. | Auditorio Explora): Una reflexión sobre la culpa, la vergüenza y los mandatos de la belleza que habitan los cuerpos de las mujeres. El espacio contó con la participación de Virgie Tovar (EE. UU.), activista, autora de Tenés derecho a permanecer gorda y una de las voces más influyentes contra la gordofobia y la cultura de la dieta, quien dialogó con la reconocida poeta, bailarina y artista escénica barranquillera Mónica Gontovnik.
- La ternura de los monstruos (7:00 p. m. | Teatro Explora): Un recorrido por la ficción especulativa y la identidad a partir de la obra de Anne de Marcken (EE. UU.), galardonada con el Premio Ursula K. Le Guin de Ficción 2024 y The Novel Prize 2022 por It Lasts Forever and Then It’s Over. La autora estadounidense sostuvo un diálogo sobre los abismos del cuerpo y el amor con el escritor, editor y profesor medellinense Lucas Vargas Sierra.

GO BILINGUAL Provides Simultaneous Interpretation During Medellín’s Book and Culture Festival
As part of the 20th anniversary celebrations of the Medellín Book and Culture Festival (Fiesta del Libro y la Cultura de Medellín), themed “Journeys of Reading” (Travesías de la lectura) this year, the language services company GO BILINGUAL joined the program to ensure linguistic accessibility through its simultaneous interpretation services. From September 11 to 20, 2026, the Botanical Garden and the Northern Zone (Zona Norte) became the central hub for literature, critical thinking, and cultural exchange among local and international guests.
Thanks to GO BILINGUAL’s technical and professional deployment, attendees in the Explora Zone were able to enjoy two of the most prominent panel discussions from the Women’s Territories (Territorios femeninos) series without language barriers:
- The Body as Contested Territory (6:00 p.m. | Explora Auditorium): A reflection on the guilt, shame, and beauty standards that inhabit women’s bodies. The session featured Virgie Tovar (USA), activist, author of You Have the Right to Remain Fat, and one of the most influential voices against fatphobia and diet culture, in conversation with the renowned poet, dancer, and performing artist from Barranquilla, Mónica Gontovnik.
- The Tenderness of Monsters (7:00 p.m. | Explora Theater): A journey through speculative fiction and identity based on the work of Anne de Marcken (USA), winner of the 2024 Ursula K. Le Guin Prize for Fiction and the 2022 Novel Prize for It Lasts Forever and Then It’s Over. The American author engaged in a dialogue on the abysses of the body and love with Medellín-born writer, editor, and professor Lucas Vargas Sierra.
