TRADUCCIONES GO BILINGUAL: Karen Palomeque: oro y bronce en Juegos Paralímpicos 2024

La comunidad académica y directivas del TdeA Institución Universitaria exaltaron los logros deportivos obtenidos por la atleta Karen Tatiana Palomeque Moreno durante los Juegos Paralímpicos 2024, que se celebran en la ciudad de París, Francia.

En las justas deportivas Palomeque Moreno contribuyó con una medalla de oro para Colombia tras imponerse en la prueba de los 100 metros de atletismo T38 donde logró nuevo récord mundial de 12,26 segundos. Además, este jueves la antioqueña consiguió el bronce en el salto largo T38, con una marca de 4.99 metros. La medallista paralímpica es egresada del programa de Trabajo Social del TdeA.

“Con inmensa alegría y orgullo recibimos estos logros deportivos de la atleta Karen Palomeque, medallas de oro y bronce en París 2024 y una de nuestras egresadas destacadas de la institución. Ella nos ha demostrado con grandeza que ninguna condición física se antepone a los anhelos por alcanzar la gloria”, resaltó Leonardo García Botero, rector del TdeA.

La atleta de 30 años nació en Medellín y pasó buena parte de su vida en el barrio La Iguaná, desde donde, con múltiples esfuerzos y sacrificios, sacó adelante sus dos carreras: la deportiva y la profesional.

“Sabemos de la dedicación y constancia que significó para ella adelantar sus estudios de manera paralela a su exitosa carrera deportiva. Hoy tenemos el corazón lleno de felicidad por esta medalla dorada. La saludamos y felicitamos a ella a la distancia y nos unimos a la alegría y orgullo de sus familiares y amigos”, puntualizó el rector.

Karen padece hemiparesia, una condición que afecta su equilibrio y movilidad en el lado izquierdo. Sin embargo, ella se ha sobrepuesto a esta situación demostrando porqué la llaman la “Princesa de las pistas”. Con estas medallas, la atleta redondea un exitoso ciclo olímpico al que se suman sus títulos en los Juegos Parapanamericanos de Santiago de Chile y Campeonato Mundial de Para atletismo de París.

Karen Palomeque: Gold and Bronze at Paralympic Games 2024

The academic community and directors of the TdeA University Institution exalted the sports achievements obtained by the athlete Karen Tatiana Palomeque Moreno during the 2024 Paralympic Games, which are being held in the city of Paris, France.

In the sports competitions, Palomeque Moreno contributed with a gold medal for Colombia after winning the 100-meter T38 athletics event where he achieved a new world record of 12.26 seconds. In addition, this Thursday the Antioquia native won bronze in the long jump T38, with a mark of 4.99 meters. The Paralympic medallist is a graduate of the Social Work program of the TdeA.

“It is with immense joy and pride that we receive these sporting achievements from the athlete Karen Palomeque, gold and bronze medallists in Paris 2024 and one of our outstanding graduates of the institution. She has shown us with greatness that no physical condition comes before the desire to achieve glory,” said Leonardo García Botero, rector of the TdeA.

The 30-year-old athlete was born in Medellín and spent a good part of her life in the La Iguaná neighborhood, from where, with multiple efforts and sacrifices, she carried out her two careers: sports and professional.

“We know of the dedication and perseverance that it meant for her to advance her studies in parallel to her successful sports career. Today our hearts are full of happiness for this gold medal. We greet and congratulate her from a distance, and we join the joy and pride of her family and friends,” said the President.

Karen suffers from hemiparesis, a condition that affects her balance and mobility on the left side. However, she has overcome this situation by showing why she is called the “Princess of the Tracks”. With these medals, the athlete rounds off a successful Olympic cycle to which are added her titles at the Parapan American Games in Santiago de Chile and World Para Athletics Championships in Paris.

¿Qué son los Good Green Jobs?

Además de su impacto ambiental positivo, los empleos verdes también buscan ofrecer condiciones laborales justas y seguras.

¿Qué es la Transición Justa?

La transición justa se refiere al proceso de transformación hacia una economía más sostenible y baja en carbono, asegurando que los trabajadores y las comunidades no se queden atrás. Este concepto promueve la creación de empleos decentes, la protección social, la formación y el desarrollo de habilidades, y la seguridad laboral para todos los trabajadores afectados por las políticas de cambio climático3.

¿Qué es el Empleo Decente?

El empleo decente es un concepto promovido por la Organización Internacional del Trabajo (OIT) que abarca trabajos productivos y de calidad, con condiciones laborales justas, seguridad en el lugar de trabajo, protección social para las familias y mejores perspectivas de desarrollo personal e integración social. Según la OIT, alrededor del 75% de la población mundial no cuenta con una cobertura de seguridad social adecuada3.

Participación de Londres y Bogotá

Durante la sesión, la ciudad de Londres presentó sobre el crecimiento de empleos verdes y cómo estos pueden crear oportunidades para una transición justa. Se destacó la importancia del Good Work Standard (GWS) de la Alcaldía de Londres, una iniciativa que promueve condiciones laborales justas y de calidad para todos los trabajadores en la ciudad.

Por otro lado, la ciudad de Bogotá presentó indicadores de trabajo decente y digno, detallando las 10 dimensiones e indicadores que se utilizan para evaluar la calidad del empleo en la región. Además, se mencionó el Monitor de Trabajo Decente y Digno, una herramienta que permite medir y analizar las condiciones laborales en la ciudad, promoviendo políticas públicas que mejoren la calidad del empleo.

La participación de estas ciudades y la colaboración de GO BILINGUAL en la traducción de los contenidos han sido fundamentales para el éxito de la sesión, facilitando el intercambio de conocimientos y experiencias entre los participantes.

GO BILINGUAL provided translation services in English, Spanish and Portuguese during the “Good Green Jobs & Just Transition Peer Session – Decent Employment”. This event, organized by C40, brought together experts and representatives from various cities to discuss crucial issues on green jobs, just transition and decent employment.

What is C40?
C40 is a global network of nearly 100 mayors from the world’s major cities who are united in action to address the climate crisis1. C40 works to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve urban resilience by promoting policies and programs that foster sustainable development and climate justice.

What are Good Green Jobs?
Good Green Jobs are jobs that contribute to preserving or restoring the environment. These jobs can be found in sectors such as renewable energy, energy efficiency, waste management and natural resource conservation2. In addition to their positive environmental impact, green jobs also seek to offer fair and safe working conditions.

What is Just Transition?
Just Transition refers to the process of transformation to a more sustainable, low-carbon economy, ensuring that workers and communities are not left behind. This concept promotes the creation of decent jobs, social protection, training and skills development, and job security for all workers affected by climate change policies3.

What is Decent Employment?
Decent employment is a concept promoted by the International Labor Organization (ILO) that encompasses productive and quality jobs, with fair working conditions, security in the workplace, social protection for families, and better prospects for personal development and social integration. According to the ILO, around 75% of the world’s population does not have adequate social security coverage3.

Participation of London and Bogotá
During the session, the City of London presented on the growth of green jobs and how they can create opportunities for a just transition. The importance of the Mayor of London’s Good Work Standard (GWS), an initiative that promotes fair and quality working conditions for all workers in the city, was highlighted.

On the other hand, the city of Bogotá presented decent and dignified work indicators, detailing the 10 dimensions and indicators used to evaluate the quality of employment in the region. In addition, the Decent and Decent Work Monitor was mentioned, a tool for measuring and analyzing labor conditions in the city, promoting public policies to improve the quality of employment.

The participation of these cities and the collaboration of GO BILINGUAL in the translation of the contents have been fundamental for the success of the session, facilitating the exchange of knowledge and experiences among the participants.

TRADUCCIONES GO BILINGUAL: El TdeA apoyará la Copa Atlético Nacional en la que participarán 2.400 niños y jóvenes

El TdeA Institución Universitaria, el Club Atlético Nacional y la Corporación Club XeneiSer establecieron una alianza estratégica para el acompañamiento de profesionales de las áreas de educación, y psicosocial durante el desarrollo de la Copa Atlético Nacional, edición 2024.

Mediante la Facultad de Educación y Ciencias Sociales, la institución dispondrá de un equipo de psicólogos, trabajadores sociales y educadores, quienes apoyarán y orientarán los requerimientos de niños, jóvenes e integrantes de los cuerpos técnicos de los diferentes equipos inscritos en el certamen deportivo.

“Nos sentimos muy complacidos de hacer parte de este proyecto de responsabilidad social que coincide con nuestros principios institucionales. También es una ventana de posibilidades que se abre para nuestros profesionales en diversas áreas. Más adelante nos gustaría integrar también a nuestra nueva Licenciatura en Educación Física, Recreación y Deportes a una iniciativa tan bonita como lo es la Copa Atlético Nacional”, detalló Ángela María Ramírez Betancur, decana de la Facultad de Educación y Ciencias Sociales del TdeA.

El certamen balompédico se desarrollará entre septiembre y diciembre de este año e integrará a cerca de 2.400 niños y jóvenes de diferentes sectores de Medellín y otros municipios del Valle de Aburrá; también, este año el evento tendrá festivales deportivos en algunas localidades del Oriente antioqueño.

“Para nosotros como corporación social, con 13 años de trayectoria, es un privilegio contar con el respaldo de dos instituciones tan reconocidas como lo son Atlético Nacional y el TdeA. Le apostamos a la educación como vehículo formativo de seres humanos íntegros que ayuden a sus comunidades. Por eso, los participantes deben de estar estudiando, ese es el requerimiento principal para poder hacer parte del certamen”, explicó Mariana Ossa Ramírez, presidenta de la Corporación Club XeneiSer.

Entre tanto, para el Club Atlético Nacional, considerado como uno de los equipos más relevantes del fútbol colombiano, esta alianza refuerza sus principios corporativos de responsabilidad social empresarial, los cuales coinciden con la vocación pedagógica del TdeA definida en su Plan de Desarrollo “Ser, Hacer, Trascender”.

“Coincidimos con estos tres valores que hacen parte de nuestras líneas de acción. Para nosotros, primero es el ser; antes que jugadores queremos formar personas que aporten y sirvan a la sociedad. Como equipo tenemos una gran responsabilidad de impactar favorablemente en las comunidades. Buscamos trascender, pero siempre mediante acciones que tengan alcance social”, expresó Andrés Restrepo González, director Comercial y de Mercadeo de Atlético Nacional.

Como parte de la firma de esta alianza estratégica se cumplió el Seminario de Formación de Entrenadores de la Copa Atlético Nacional dirigido a los cuerpos técnicos que harán parte del certamen deportivo.

El espacio académico contó, además, con la participación de entrenadores de la Dirección de Bienestar, estudiantes y profesores de la Licenciatura en Educación Física, Recreación y Deportes del TdeA.

The TdeA will Support the “Copa Atlético Nacional” Football Tournament

The TdeA University Institution, the Atlético Nacional Football club and the XeneiSer Club Corporation established a strategic alliance for the accompaniment of professionals in the areas of education and psychosocial during the development of the Copa Atlético Nacional Tournament, 2024 edition.

Through the School of Education and Social Sciences, the institution will have a team of psychologists, social workers and educators, who will support and guide the requirements of children, young people and members of the technical staff of the different teams registered in the sports event.

“We are very pleased to be part of this social responsibility project that coincides with our institutional principles. It is also a window of possibilities that opens up for our professionals in various areas. Later on, we would also like to integrate our new Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education, Recreation and Sports into an initiative as beautiful as the National Athletic Cup,” explained Ángela María Ramírez Betancur, dean of the School of Education and Social Sciences of the TdeA.

The football contest will take place between September and December of this year and will integrate about 2,400 children and young people from different sectors of Medellín and other municipalities of the Aburrá Valley; also, this year the event will have sports festivals in some locations in Eastern Antioquia.

“For us as a social corporation, with 13 years of experience, it is a privilege to have the support of two institutions as recognized as Atlético Nacional and the TdeA. We are committed to education as a vehicle for the formation of upright human beings who help their communities. Therefore, the participants must be studying, that is the main requirement to be able to be part of the contest,” explained Mariana Ossa Ramírez, CEO of the XeneiSer Club Corporation.

Meanwhile, for Club Atlético Nacional, considered one of the major teams in Colombian soccer, this alliance reinforces its corporate principles of corporate social responsibility, which coincide with the pedagogical vocation of the TdeA defined in its Development Plan “Being, Doing, Transcending.”

“We agree with these three values that are part of our lines of action. For us, being comes first; Before players we want to train people who contribute and serve society. As a team, we have a great responsibility to have a favorable impact on communities. We seek to transcend, but always through actions that have a social reach,” said Andrés Restrepo González, Commercial and Marketing Director of Atlético Nacional.

As part of the signing of this strategic alliance, the Coach Training Seminar of the Copa Atlético Nacional Tournament was held for the technical staff that will be part of the sports event.

The academic space also had the participation of coaches from the Directorate of Welfare, students and professors of the Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education, Recreation and Sports of the TdeA.

TRADUCCIONES GO BILINGUAL: Red de Consultorios Jurídicos y Centros de Conciliación de Antioquia se reunió en el TdeA

El TdeA, institución universitaria, fue sede este jueves 29 de agosto del encuentro de la Red de Consultorios Jurídicos y Centros de Conciliación, nodo Antioquia. Esta instancia congrega a 23 de estos espacios universitarios de igual número de facultades de Derecho de todo el departamento.

En esta ocasión, los directores y delegados de los consultorios jurídicos y centros de conciliación de Antioquia asistieron a dos charlas relacionadas con su labor de asistencia y acompañamiento jurídico a las comunidades más vulnerables: una, acerca de la manera como se pueden complementar y consolidar estos servicios con los que brindan las Casas de Justicia; y la otra, relacionada con los protocolos y demás procedimientos que consoliden las garantías y derechos de las mujeres desde las instancias jurídicas.

“Con base en la ley a las Casas de Justicia le quitaron algunas competencias que eran de los comisarios de familia y se las dieron a los consultorios jurídicos; y otras que eran nuestras quedaron en cabeza de ellos. La idea es poder orientar adecuadamente a los usuarios y que puedan acudir con facilidad, y sin equivocación, a la instancia que corresponde para atender con mayor agilidad sus dudas y consultas”, explicó John Robert Espinosa Herrera, director del Consultorio Jurídico y Centro de Conciliación “Sofía Medina López” del TdeA.

Este tipo de encuentros posibilita establecer actividades conjuntas y afines para los 23 consultorios jurídicos y centros de conciliación, y por ende para sus correspondientes facultades de Derecho. Por tal razón, en esta ocasión, se fijaron tareas en materia de investigación y capacitación para los estudiantes asignados a estos espacios de asesoría y de consultoría jurídica para los sectores menos favorecidos de la sociedad.

“Nosotros hacemos presencia en cerca de 49 municipios de Antioquia. La idea es que con el complemento de herramientas digitales y nuevas tecnologías podamos dinamizar nuestra oferta de servicios para llegar a más lugares. Debemos fortalecer los canales pedagógicos para nuestros estudiantes y las comunidades. A veces en los territorios no acuden a los consultorios porque existen una cantidad de ‘barreras’ que nos alejan de nuestros públicos objetivos”, argumentó Sara Ceballos Escobar, directora del Centro de Resolución de Conflictos de la Universidad de Medellín.

Al respecto, Juan Guillermo Rivera García, director del Consultorio Jurídico de la Corporación Universitaria U. de Colombia, reconoció la importancia de este tipo de encuentros que permiten aclarar dudas frecuentes y unificar estrategias en virtud de mejorar el servicio que se le ofrece a la comunidad: “Acá compartimos nuestras experiencias y coincidimos en acciones que nos posibiliten optimizar la oferta que tenemos para los estratos 1, 2 y 3, para los cuales está orientada nuestra atención jurídica”.

En Colombia el funcionamiento de los consultorios jurídicos de las instituciones de educación superior está reglamentado por la Ley 2113 de 2021. El Ministerio de Justicia y del Derecho es el encargado de ejercer el control y la vigilancia sobre estos espacios universitarios.

Conforme a las últimas actualizaciones normativas, el Estado busca mejorar el acceso a la justicia a través de los consultorios jurídicos y, a su vez, cualificar la formación de abogados y estudiantes mediante el uso de plataformas como la tele justicia y otras alternativas digitales y tecnológicas.

Network of Legal Clinics and Conciliation Centers of Antioquia met at the TdeA

The TdeA, university institution, hosted this Thursday, August 29, the meeting of the Network of Legal Clinics and Conciliation Centers, Antioquia node. This instance brings together 23 of these university spaces from the same number of law schools throughout the department.

On this occasion, the directors and delegates of the legal clinics and conciliation centers of Antioquia attended two talks related to their work of legal assistance and accompaniment to the most vulnerable communities: one, about how these services can be complemented and consolidated with those provided by the Houses of Justice; and the other, related to protocols and other procedures that consolidate the guarantees and rights of women from the legal instances.

“Based on the law, they took away some powers from the Houses of Justice that belonged to the family commissioners and gave them to the legal clinics; and others that were ours remained in their management. The idea is to be able to properly guide users and that they can go easily, and without mistake, to the corresponding instance to attend to their doubts and queries with greater agility,” explained John Robert Espinosa Herrera, director of the Legal Clinic and Conciliation Center “Sofía Medina López” of the TdeA.

This type of meeting makes it possible to establish joint and related activities for the 23 legal clinics and conciliation centers, and therefore, for their corresponding law schools. For this reason, on this occasion, tasks were set in terms of research and training for the students assigned to these spaces of legal advice and consulting for the less favored sectors of society.

“We are present in about 49 municipalities in Antioquia. The idea is that with the complement of digital tools and new technologies we can dynamize our service offer to reach more places. We must strengthen pedagogical channels for our students and communities. Sometimes in the territories they do not go to the clinics because there are a number of ‘barriers’ that distance us from our target audiences,” explained Sara Ceballos Escobar, director of the Center for Conflict Resolution at the University of Medellín.

In this regard, Juan Guillermo Rivera García, director of the Legal Clinic of the University Corporation of Colombia, recognized the importance of this type of meetings that allow frequent doubts to be clarified and unify strategies by virtue of improving the service offered to the community: “Here we share our experiences and agree on actions that allow us to optimize the offer we have for strata 1, 2 and 3, for which our legal attention is oriented.”

In Colombia, the operation of the legal clinics of higher education institutions is regulated by Law 2113 of 2021. The Ministry of Justice and Law is in charge of exercising control and surveillance over these university spaces.

In accordance with the latest regulatory updates, the Government is seeking to improve access to justice through legal clinics and, in turn, qualify the training of lawyers and students through the use of platforms such as telejustice and other digital and technological alternatives.
